Bell Bros has an immediate need for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Apprentice Plumber/PSI at our Sacramento location. The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently with great attention to detail, should have exceptional multi-tasking skills and be organized and able to perform in a fast-paced environment. This is an hourly, non-exempt, at-will position. Must be available to work full shifts plus overtime.

10-Weeks Paid Training - Customer Service and/or some Sales Experience Helpful! Hourly + Commission

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must to comfortable talking to customers, and suggesting products and services.
  • We dispatch you to customer homes; you will perform and in-depth Plumbing Safety Inspection visit.
  • Suggest products and services to customers
  • Inspections are in, under, and around customer homes, inspecting all aspects of plumbing and sewer systems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of plumbing repair and installations and use good judgment, addressing areas believed to be of immediate concern or potential future concerns.
  • Completes detailed written report of PSI inspection for each visited customer.
  • Provide customers with a detailed review of PSI visit findings and make recommendations to address to address any variances to the normal and safe operation of plumbing and sewer systems.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills with a focus on technical accuracy, writing quality, and clarity.
  • Employee will be measured on KPIs and expected to perform up to and exceed the standards attached to employee performance to goal expectations (average ticket, monthly revenue). By completing ride-along as determined by Plumbing Manager.
  • Use, apply, and monitor appropriate safety practices and procedures and report violations to Plumbing Manager.
  • Performs Levels 1-3 plumbing services and repairs consistent with generally accepted plumbing standards and in accordance with company expectations.
  • Provide quality plumbing solutions, communicate effectively, demonstrate quality workmanship, and accurately invoice customers for all work performed.
  • Collect payment for all work performed or provide accurate documentation to ensure customer financing.
  • Maintain adequate vehicle parts and equipment inventory sufficient to complete all work assigned.
  • Work independently with little supervision in the completion of assignments with 95% of time spent in the field.
  • Participate and attend all scheduled department meetings.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.

  • Able to recognize negative variances and communicate findings to customer, verbal & written
  • Ability to read and understand plumbing and maintenance work orders and job instructions.
  • Knowledge of plumbing repair and installation using standard tools and machines attributed to the Plumber Apprentice position.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, detail oriented and able to work independently.

  • Frequent standing, squatting, sitting for extended periods of time

  • Occasionally required to ascend/descend ladders and balance

GROOMING:

Once hired, all employees must maintain a well-groomed appearance (i.e. all hair must be clean and neatly trimmed and well groomed (must be no longer than the collar of your shirt, no hair buns or ponytails and facial hair must be neatly trimmed if present. Facial hair cannot be longer than 1/4 inch in length) and no visible tattoos.
