Position Summary:

In a collaborative relationship with the Director, oversees the day-to-day operations in Medical/Surgical Services.  The role oversees clinical and non-clinical activities with an emphasis on patient satisfaction, teaching, and mentoring, to ensure patient safety through exceptional delivery of care.

Essential Functions
1. Coordinate Operations in Medical/Surgical Services
- Oversee schedules/staffing
- Oversees orientation/annual education
- Oversee tracking/quality initiatives
- Mentor/coach staff
2. Support Employee Engagement
- Recognize/report employee concerns/challenges
- Employee rounds
3. Plan/Participate in Quality improvements
- Active participation in patient satisfaction, quality and patient safety meetings
- Lead and educate staff on patient satisfaction and patient safety
- Collaborate with staff and employees to provide an environment of high quality and safety
4. Clinical liaison for Physicians/Staff
- Clinical consultation/guidance for staff
- Maintains evidence-based practice standards
5. Monitor regulatory compliance
- Standards of Care/Policies
- Implement new technology/procedures
- Actively prepares/participates in JC, CMS, HSC Mock Surveys


Minimum Qualifications:

An Associate’s degree in Nursing required
Active NC or compact RN License
Required Skills
At least two years of relevant experience in bedside nursing or supervisor services. The employee must have the ability to understand, communicate and react effectively to the unique needs of, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient, as appropriate for their patient population.
