Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Maintenance Planning Specialist through 03/29/2024 at 11:59 p.m. (PST).  

Plans and schedules maintenance work.  Creates work instructions, sequence of tasks and duration of tasks for job plans.  Utilizes management systems and tools (such as CMMS, IMPACT, Primavera, MS Project) to plan, schedule, communicate and track maintenance activity ensuring alignment with production/operations coordinators.  Oversees contractor schedules for equipment delivery and execution.       

Supports larger customers/clients and may lead functional projects under infrequent supervision.  Developing a detailed knowledge of the work function.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Accountable for estimating and planning construction projects.

  • Works with contractors and construction company representatives (CoRep) to develop accurate and predictable execution estimates.

  • Reviews Engineered Work Orders (EWO) and provide input to engineering during development.

  • Understands sequencing of tasks associated with construction execution and demonstrates good planning and organizing skills.

  • Must be able to perform field walks in all areas of the refinery to complete scoping of work.

  • Understands and supports refinery safety and environmental policies. Demonstrates an understanding of the work process, deliverables, and expectations related to the construction work processes.

  • Estimates large jobs early in Phase 3 and works with procurement to order and track long lead material.

  • Ensure plans are detailed appropriately in Primavera.

  • Adopt digital tools as rolled out for use and provide feedback to product owners.

  • Utilizing Maximo to create service orders, procure and track materials.

  • Prepare rolled up estimates.

  • Review contractor proposals, compare them with historical data and challenge quotes when needed.

  • Create pre-expenditure requests in the Authorization for Expenditure System (AFE).

  • Document required quality management (QM) checklist and procedures. Engagement and visibility with project stakeholders.

  • Support CoRep with scope change during project execution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and skillset for planning construction projects

  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)

  • Strong organizational abilities

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years relevant experience

  • Experience with SAP, MAXIMO, Primavera

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $99,700 – $171,700 .
