Job Description
We are a scratch-made kitchen so everyone on the kitchen team does prep. We work together so we are successful together. We believe in promoting from within. We also reward our team with cash pops, “prizes,” and quarterly trips to breweries and distilleries in other cities in the state. Please come in and check us out.
We are looking for experienced cooks to prepare food to our specifications and to set up your station accordingly. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction, can work independently, and gets along well with others.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Preparing food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Answer, report and follow chef’s instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food according to HAACP
- Clean kitchen according to shift change and closing specs
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Requirements
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Ability to multi-task
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED equivalents.
- Follows all food safety & sanitation procedures.
- Applicants with food safety/food/managers safety certification will be given priority
SKILLS
- Remain calm and solution-driven in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
- Demonstrate a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency.
- Display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests and teammates.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel or bend for extended periods of time.
- Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
- Ability to communicate effectively with teammates.
- Ability to occasionally move objects up to 20 pounds.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years old to serve food.
- Practice all general safety standards.
- Maintain a well-groomed and clean appearance; including following all uniform guidelines.
- Memorize and Maintain the Outpost Core Values.
