Description:

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for creating and managing the internal processes needed for quality assurance and control throughout all our custom manufacturing environment. This is a NEW position within our growing organization and will be critical to our future growth and success.


Position will partner internally with all leadership to define, optimize and maintain our internal controls. This position will lead an internal process improvement initiative and will include the full scope of operations: employee training, Safety & OSHA requirements, maintaining of quality control processes, conducting inspections and tests, analyzing print samples, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues.


The ideal candidate will have experience managing the quality processes, safety and OSHA regulations within a manufacturing environment. Print industry experience optional. Key Words: Industrial Engineer, Project Management, Six Sigma, Process Improvement, Manufacturing Efficiency


SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures specific to the print and fulfillment industry to ensure consistent and high-quality production.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests of printed materials, including color accuracy, print registration, print quality, and finishing processes.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to address quality concerns and provide guidance on corrective actions.
  • Work with leadership to analyze print samples and data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in print quality and production efficiency.
  • Write and maintain a Quality Manual with comprehensive documentation of quality control processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, work instructions, and inspection reports.
  • In partnership with leadership and HR, provide consistent training and education to employees on safety, OSHA, print, finishing, mailing, and kitting quality standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and understanding.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to quality control standards throughout the production workflow, up to and including shipment or delivery of completed product.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve print quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to print quality control and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Proven experience in quality control or assurance within the manufacturing environments, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of print production processes, including prepress, offset printing, digital printing, and finishing techniques is a plus.
  • Familiarity with color management systems, print standard, and quality control tools specific to the print industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret print samples and data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering superior print quality.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with production team and clients.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in quality management, or a related field.


MINIMUM YEARS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 2 years' experience in Quality Management or related field.
