Wage: $13.00 Hourly

GENERAL PURPOSE

Performs a variety of general administrative and first-line supervisory duties as needed to coordinate the establishment, organization, scheduling and operation of the Community Center rentals and events.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED


Works under the direct supervision of the Events/Rentals Coordinator & the general supervision of the Community Center Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Plans, establishes, organizes, and coordinates rentals, ensuring proper paperwork is completed for rentals implementing proper safety measures for staff and patrons renting the Community Center, monitors rental activities to assure guest satisfaction and retention.


Requires a large amount of lifting including set-up of tables and chairs on a daily basis.

Requires a flexible work schedule to include mostly nights and weekends, including after hours event supervision.


Must be self-motivated, dependable, organized, and possess good time management skills.


Serves as a liaison to the community for the Events/Rentals Coordinator.


Coordinate and plan senior events for Washington City.


Organize Citizen newsletter


Assist with planning and facilitation of special events for Washington City from pre-production through post-production.


Will develop skills in 8 primary areas: (1) activity development, (2) budgeting & inventory, (3) marketing, (4) volunteer management, (5) donations & fundraising, (6) logistical management, (7) entertainment and vendors, and (8) post-production. (Events vary with each season)


Prepares and delivers reports as needed to advise the Events/Rentals Coordinator of projections and results.

Makes recommendations concerning rental usage, rental options offered and available.


Reviews complaints, problems and concerns expressed by the public and makes recommendations accordingly.


Tracks all rental contracts, analyzes circumstances and issues and develops alternative solutions.


Responsible for all equipment associated with the various rentals and rental usage; keeps inventory and orders replacement and new equipment as needed; assures a safe and clean environment through periodic safety checks.


Other duties as assigned by Events/Rentals Coordinator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

Education and Experience:

A. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.


B. An equivalent combination of education and experience.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, volunteers, and the public; direct, motivate, develop, and evaluate subordinates; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.


Special Qualifications:


Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be certified in Defensive Driving Training within six months of hire date. Spanish speaking preferred.


Considerable knowledge of methods, techniques, and philosophies of developing, operating and marketing a broad spectrum of rentals and events. Liability issues and injury prevention; community and public relations; budgeting processes and general accounting; working knowledge of personal computers and various software applications including spreadsheets, word processing, etc.


Work Environment:
Incumbent of the position performs in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Tasks require a variety of physical activities, not generally involving muscular strain related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, etc. Communicating, i.e. talking, hearing, and seeing, is essential to job effectiveness. Common eye, hand, and finger dexterity exist. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and creative problem solving. Periodic travel required in normal course of job performance.
