Server Assistant/Busser

Center Art LLC, managed by the Space Needle LLC, is partnering with Chihuly Studio to operate the Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibition on the Seattle Center grounds next to the Space Needle.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Server Assistants supports Center Art’s organization mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, personalization, accountability and ownership.

The Server Assistants are responsible for clearing, pre-bussing, running food, resetting tables and assisting servers with guest requests. Creating a memorable experience for guests using excellent guest service skills. Maintain a clean and stocked Bar. Have a clear understanding of job specific standards and meet these expectations on a daily basis.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain priority of bussing tables first; ensure each table setting is complete before moving on to the next task.
• Continuously rotate between section, dish/bread station and running food.
• Adjust speed to meet customer and Cafe business demands.
• Set window tables first before setting booths.
• Booths set with settings for 4 guests during summer hours and weekends. Settings for 2 guests non-summer hours and Monday-Thursday
• Assist servers in providing soda, tea and coffee re-fills to guests.
• Assist servers in pre-bussing of tables throughout guest dining experience.
• Provide bread, butter and water service to all guests.
• Keep side stands clean, organized and stocked at all times.
• Ensure cleanliness of entire table area, including chairs and floor.
• Practice safety and prudence in loading full trays.
• Ensure AM/PM side work is completed.
• Clean coffee pots, water pitchers, and iced tea pitchers on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Take dirty dishes to dish area and deposits them in the proper locations.
• Use trays to serve and to clear.
• Provide immediate service recovery.
• Properly declare tips at the end of every shift.
• Perform any other duties deemed necessary by Management.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain the highest standards by adhering to both company and departmental standards.
• Maintain a professional on-stage appearance especially on the dining room floor in the view of guests.
• Knowledge of Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibition policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Fire/Safety/Life procedures.
• Promote a positive and professional attitude to all internal and external guests.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must have a minimum of 6 months Server Assistant or server experience in a high volume, full service environment.
• Excellent communication skills necessary.
• Requires the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must have a valid Washington State Class 12 or Class 13 Alcohol Service Permit, and a valid Washington State Food Handler’s Permit
• Always remains professional and works well with others
• Walking, standing, reaching, and lifting (25 lbs) entire shift.
• Typical shift is approximately 8 hours.

Full Time, Hourly Position

Hourly Rate: $17.25 - 17.25 hourly
