Position: Board Certified Internal Medicine/Family Practice Physician

Schedule: Full Time - Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Location: Primary Care at the Montevideo CBOC, 1025 N 13th St, Montevideo, MN 56265.


Job Summary:


FAR Group is looking to hire an internal Medicine/Family Practice Physician to provide medical services necessary to perform onsite outpatient Primary Care clinical services to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs Montevideo Community Based Outpatient Clinic.


Qualifications:


The candidate must meet the following requirements:


  • Must have a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Shall be board certified. All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.
  • Shall have knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to service primary care outpatient clinic patient population.
  • Shall demonstrate knowledge of growth and development, pathophysiology of disease processes, and chronic disease management.
  • Shall provide copy of current DEA certificate.
  • Physician must be certified and current in Basic Life Support.
  • Continuing CME/CMU Requirements: the candidate shall provide copies of current CMEs as required or requested by the VA. Contractors registered or certified by national/medical associations shall continue to meet the minimum standards for CME to remain current.
  • Must provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences including any gaps in educational history.


Duties:


Direct Patient Care: 80% of the time involved in direct patient care:


Board Certified Internal Medicine/Family Practice Physician shall provide, at a minimum, the following Primary and Specialty Medicine Physician services for Veteran patients.


Services shall include:


Diagnosis, evaluation treatment, and provide consultation across all settings including the following areas:


  • General and Subspecialty Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • Neurology
  • Gynecology
  • Geriatrics
  • Musculoskeletal
  • Common mental illness
  • Dermatologic, and other chronic ambulatory conditions

The required services include preventative health, health promotions, chronic disease management, and counseling. Including diagnosis, evaluations, and treatment of acute conditions to include admitting.


Documentation Requirements:


All patient care documentation including, but not limited to consultations, encounters, weekly progress notes, treatment discharge notes, follow-up notes, and other required documentation, shall be recorded in CPRS and completed on the date patient care is completed but no later than three days after patient's care in accordance with VA Rules and Regulations.


Administrative: 20% of time not involved in direct patient care:


Internal Medicine/Family Practice Physician shall attend service staff meetings as required by the VA Chief, Primary and Specialty Medicine Service Line or designee.
