The Daughters of Charity Is Looking for Team Players!
We are looking for enthusiastic, responsible and energetic individuals to come fill part time positions.
We are the home for the retired Sisters of the Daughters of Charity located in a peaceful, park like setting. Employee parking is onsite.
Responsibilities
Dietary Assistants may help in the following areas:
Perform a variety of tasks necessary to assist in the care and maintenance of the work area, equipment and supplies including removing recyclables, transporting food items to respective storage areas, cleaning kitchen equipment as scheduled
Perform various tasks necessary to assist cooks with the preparation of scheduled meals including making salads and other food items as directed by the cook, assist in serving meals in a tasteful and attractive manner, ensures that, after the meal, all food is cleared and properly stored
Carries out functions necessary to maintain the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen. Perform and document cleaning duties as scheduled. Perform other cleaning duties such as scraping, scouring, washing and rinsing of pots, pans, utensils and equipment. Sweeps and wet mops the kitchen floor. Takes out the trash and sanitizes the trash barrels per schedule.
Plans, organizes and performs functions necessary to prepare breakfast, dinner and supper for the dining rooms. This includes checking the menu, setting up the serving areas of the dining rooms. Preparing beverages and setting them in the proper place. Setting out serving utensils, setting up trays, setting out hot and cold food, assist the Sisters, set up the dining rooms for subsequent meals.
Keep the dining rooms and kitchens clean and organized including cleaning the tables and counters after the meal, load and start the dishwasher, when done, unload the machine and put the dishes and utensils away, maintain an ongoing schedule for cleaning the those rooms and the kitchens
Maintain an adequate supply of food items needed for meals/snacks by checking the inventory on a daily basis and replenishing those items.
Maintains professional discretion and strict confidentiality
Responds proactively to change and participates in team efforts to meet departmental and community goals.
Any other duties as assigned

Physical/Environmental Demands
Physical Activities include standing and lifting up to 10 lbs. over 2/3 of the day, walking, use of hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, ability to lift up to 25 lbs. 1/3-2/3 of the day, lift up to 100 lbs. 1/3 of the day. /will be working near moving mechanical parts, extreme kitchen heat, sharp objects and moderate noise.
