Groomer Assistant/Bather at Bay Paws Pet Resort

Position: Grooming Assistant/Bather

Employment Status: FT

Pay: Hourly (Non Exempt) + Tips

Reports to: Grooming Manager/General Manager

We are looking for an experienced Bather or Grooming Assistant who wants to join a fast growing luxury pet resort brand with multiple locations to help grow our grooming business. The ideal candidate would have experience bathing and is looking for the next step in their career - to be trained to become a groomer. 

The Grooming Assistant/Bather will provide exceptional care to the pet guests of Bay Paws Pet Resort in our grooming salon and will be responsible for providing a positive, fun, interactive experience for the pet guests, while also ensuring their safety and health. The Grooming Assistant/Bather will communicate effectively and clearly with the Bay Paws management team to ensure information regarding the pet's experience, temperament and needs is communicated.

The Grooming Assistant/Bather is responsible for the following duties:

• Bathing dogs
• Clipping/filing nails, cleaning ears, expressing anal glands 
• Maintaining cleanliness of the grooming salon by disinfecting kennels, bathtubs, floors, and other grooming equipment
• Retrieving and returning dogs from daycare yards or boarding suites 
• Answering and making phone calls for current and new grooming clients
• Conducting consultations to ensure client satisfaction and grooming quality 
• Communicating with pet parents and groomers to notify of any grooming changes
• Using PetExec to locate and update pet information and communicate with clients
• Communicating with groomers on how to assist for the day
• Promoting excellent pet care throughout Bay Paws Pet Resort 
• Collaboration with the Front Desk to ensure quality client care 

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent 
• Minimum 1 year pet care experience, preferably in pet boarding or veterinary environment 
• Minimum 1 year customer service experience, preferably in sales, retail, pet boarding or veterinary environment 
• Team player mentality
• Reliable transportation 
• Ability to read, count and write for documents and reporting 
• Eligible to work in the United States

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand or walk 90% of time 
• Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted 
• Ability to control pets during relocation throughout the Pet Resort

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $13-14/hour plus tips.
