Position Summary: 
At VetPowered, the Quality Inspector will routinely perform first part, in-process, and final inspection of manufactured products using measuring equipment and sampling plans to ensure defects do not reach our customers. Additionally, the Quality Inspector will routinely perform receiving inspection of purchased products and services, first article inspection to qualify production process, and pack slip verifications to ensure the correct part, quantities, and required documentation is provided with each shipment. Relentlessly looks for ways to improve Quality and implement steps to increase safety and quality throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish, improve, and implement established Quality Management procedures, work instructions, and planned operations identified in the job traveler to maintain compliance and ensure consistency.
  • Ensure current version of required documentation are obtained (CAD, drawings, parts list, specifications), MBD files downloaded and translated to 3D models and converted to portfolios, properly named and stored, and current before issuing to manufacturing.
  • Responsible to calibrating QA equipment and ensuring that all QA equipment is calibrated prior to use and pulled from service when due.
  • Inspection: measurement and visual verification of products and services.
  • Material Review Board (MRB): Responsible to identifying and moving rejected parts to MRB area to prevent mix-ups.
  • Perform regular quality assessments on all in process production parts, incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
  • Ensures the shipments are pulled and packaged in accordance with controlled procedures, product requirements, and SOP’s.
  • Pulls, packages, and ships final product using ERP system.
  • Assists with designated inventory management.
  • Controls the access and movement of materials in accordance with SOP’s.
  • Monitors the temperature-controlled locations of all inventory.
  • If required, create CAD programs for R&D projects
  • If required, program and operate Amada fiber laser cutter
  • If required, program and operate Amada fiber laser engraver
  • If required, program and operate Waterjet
  • Other Duties As Assigned

Education/Experience:

  • Use of common inspection tools (caliper, micrometer, comparator, height gage, profilometer)
  • Performing FAIRs per AS9102
  • JobBoss experience a plus
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T and customer specifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • CMM Operation and Programming. 
  •  3-4 years in a QA/QC role
  • Zeiss Operations with Calypso Software

Position Details: This is a full-time hourly (non-exempt) position (40+ hours/week).

Pay: The pay range for this California-based position is $36.00-$45.00 hourly.  The actual compensation offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, and experience.
