Description

The primary objective of this position is to prioritize the business's Environmental Health and Safety and ensure optimal Quality Assurance. The primary responsibilities are being accountable for developing, implementing, and improving the organization's environmental health and safety (EH&S) policies and procedures. The role involves performing EH&S evaluations and audits, summarizing details and findings, and preparing reports. The job holder is also responsible for developing and implementing countermeasures for EH&S non-conformities and findings. This position will represent EH&S for internal and external meetings, related functions, and regulatory agency visits. Quality Assurance responsibilities include investigating and resolving non-conformities arising from customer complaints, vendor errors, or issues during the product rebuild/new manufacturing process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists EH&S Manager in creating or updating new and existing EH&S Programs.(Essential)

  • Performs and administers EH&S employee training including new hire EH&S orientation. Monitors and helps resolve employee past-due EH&S training.

  • Performs audits of EH&S Programs and Policies and under the direction of the EH&S Manager, updates as needed.

  • Conducts EH&S audits to ETI requirements (i.e., checklists), completes surveys and inspections as requested; compares to regulatory requirements. Resolve non-conformities or gaps as assigned.

  • Ensures the company operational policies meet regulatory and permit requirements.

  • Supports EH&S Manager in completion of regulatory reports, licenses, permits, and fees.

  • Assemble, create and/or collate relevant material, prepare for, and effectively lead ERT (Emergency Response Team) and other EH&S meetings and drills.

  • Perform incident investigations, document findings (i.e., in EH&S system); review with EH&S Manager.

  • Evaluate equipment and/or regulatory changes and determine if in compliance with environmental health & safety regulations.

  • Complies with EBARA safety policies, including participation in and completion of all required safety training.

  • Maintains clean and safe working environment compliant with Ebara safety policies.

  • Document customer complaints, determine root-causes, develop corrective action plans and validate countermeasure effectiveness

  • Perform problem diagnosis using Quality Tools such as Fishbone diagnosis, FMEA, etc.

  • Determine areas for improved quality and efficiency in Manufacturing and Pump Rebuild; perform studies and work with Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in an Environmental Health and Safety discipline or equivalent work experience.

Experience

  • Four (4) to six (6) years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Strong manufacturing system knowledge and experience implementing control plans and identifying inspection points.
  • Experience with supplier process control and supplier audits.
  • Ability to interface professionally with staff, suppliers and customers.
  • Possess excellent English language skills (both written and verbal).
