Monday and Tuesday from 3pm-8pm, Saturday 6am-11am & 1pm-6pm, and Sunday from 6am-11am.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Our food services department is on the front lines of our ministry and may be the first point of contact individuals from the public may meet. This person should reflect the values of Restoring Hope and Changing Lives. Under the oversight of the Food Services Supervisor, prepare and serve meals and participate in safe kitchen operations. Work alongside staff, students and volunteers in planning, preparing, and serving meals within assigned shift (breakfast, lunch, dinner) at a professional level and to offer quality hospitality. Utilize safe food handling practices and standards in accordance with county health code.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and cook shift-appropriate meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner). Make prep lists and execute prep for the next meal.
  • Work alongside students and volunteers assigned to kitchen:
  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen facilities.
  • Properly use, clean and store equipment.
  • Put away orders and donations; insure proper food handling and storage.
  • Assist with menu planning as needed.
  • Observe established health and safety standards and procedures, including those of County Health Department, USDA and OSHA.
  • Attend internal and external meetings and trainings as requested or expected.
  • Additional duties as requested.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Committed Christian with a commitment to and a passion for "restoring hope and changing lives".
  • Proper food handling, preparation, knowledge of cooking terms and techniques
  • Able to cook tasteful meals and follow instructions
