IT Technician

Our client, Summers Manufacturing is growing! They are adding an IT Technician to assist the IT Coordinator with all aspects of network administration.  This is an onsite position, at their Devil's Lake location.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and resolve network/ printer problems, computer hardware problems, email, and internet access problems.
• Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and provide technical assistance and support.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot computer workstation and networking problems.
• Maintain and test daily/weekly/monthly backups for the entire organization.
• Set up equipment for employee use, perform or ensure proper installation of cables, operating systems, and appropriate software.
• Work closely with IT Coordinator to ensure optimal network performance and efficiency on a daily basis.
• Become ERP System expert, and provide support and training on effective use of ERP Management software.
• Update and maintain software and servers.
• Communicate effectively and provide support for employees at all levels of the organization.

Education/License/Certification Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in computer networking or related field is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in lieu of education requirements, considered.
• A valid North Dakota driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

Experience Requirements:

• Three (3) years of related experience is required.
• Knowledge of and experience with the following computer programs:
  • Windows Server Platforms is required.
  • Windows Desktop platforms is required.
  • Microsoft SharePoint Services, preferred.
  • ERP Software required, SYSPO preferred. 
  • Graphic Software/ Adobe preferred.
  • SQL database management preferred.
  • Virtual Environment knowledge preferred.
  • Programming skills preferred.

Other Requirements:

• Occasional nights and weekend work is required.
• Travel to remote plants is required.
• This position involves work inside and outside the plant, where conditions may get dusty, hot, cold, noisy and smoky and may involve exposure to some odors:
  • Ability to work around fumes and chemicals is required.
  • Ability to work around moving parts is required.
  • Ability to work around loud noises is required.
