SUMMARY:

Develop broad understanding and application of the automotive industry standards and continually strive for improvements and excellence in all facets of the business.  Ensure quality standards of parts provided by suppliers and in-house operations.

 

  • Weekly/monthly scheduling of Weld Destruct and ED Teardown
  • Unit preparation for teardown (staging, weld numbering, etc.)
  • Schedule and support 3rd Party labor for teardown activities
  • Prepare weekly summary reports of teardown results.
  • Conduct maintenance on destruct tools and destruct room as needed.
  • Monthly audit of supplier destruct reports and findings
  • Daily review of online Pry-Check reports and countermeasure validation
  • Special project (to be determined annually)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in quality control or supplier quality experience within a manufacturing environment preferably the automotive industry in body-in-white, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings (ex.: weld maps, sealer drawings) preferred.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with multiple priorities and time frame.
  • Possess strong self-responsibility.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in making recommendations, exercising company decisions, and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.
  • Strong problem solving, technical, planning, organizational and decision-making skills and experience in the area of quality control in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Flexible schedule to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally preferred.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
