We are seeking a seasoned Tax Manager for a professional services firm to oversee tax preparation for the firm and its partners. This role requires managing multiple tax projects, coordinating with the finance and accounting teams, and ensuring compliance with established procedures. The ideal candidate will excel in tax research and documentation, possess strong relationship-building skills, and demonstrate a strategic approach to tax planning and execution. The position demands a proactive and detail-oriented professional capable of driving efficiency and accuracy in all tax-related processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage tax return preparations for the firm and its partners, strictly adhering to established policies.
  • Ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance throughout the tax return preparation process.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with partners and the finance teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Conduct detailed tax research, addressing 1099 and multistate W-2 queries, and assist with resolving payroll tax notices.
  • Accurately complete working papers, tax returns, and other required deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Proactively identify and communicate potential tax planning opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Regularly advise on tax implications related to HR policies, focusing on employee benefits and reimbursements.
  • Effectively communicate project statuses, tax activities, and business concerns to the finance team.
  • Manage and ensure the accuracy of data entry and record-keeping processes.
  • Actively learn and integrate new technologies as introduced by the firm.
  • Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting required.
  • 5-7 years of tax experience in public accounting or consulting.
  • Proficient in accounting software, especially CCH ProSystemfx, CCH Axcess, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of multistate taxation, apportionment, and nexus regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and client service skills.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • International tax experience, especially in the Virgin Islands, Philippines, and Puerto Rico, preferred.
  • CPA license or in process, with active AICPA and state society memberships.
  • Background check required.

Compensation:

  • $92,000 to 100,000
  • Exceptional benefits package
