Job Summary:

This position is responsible for Insurance products (i.e., Policy, Billing and Claims systems) ensuring seamless user experience, change management and synergy within products with respect to researching, utilizing upcoming technical features that align with organizational needs. This individual will typically have a rich background in IT engineering functions such as Software Development. This position works closely with business and IT stakeholders to achieve the above outcomes with a long-term strategic view. While this is an individual contributor position, the individual works with a high degree of autonomy and latitude.

Job Duties / Essential Functions:

Models ethical behavior and executes job responsibilities in accordance with Citizen's core values, ethics, and information protection policies.

  1. Responsible for end user and customer satisfaction of defined products or tools by collecting (using methods such as focus group, surveys etc), synthesizing, documenting, and implementing user feedback (internal and external users). Asks probing questions related to use of technology/software such as system interactions, ease of user interface, interactive help, error handling, intuitiveness. Prepares and presents key findings, data visualization and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  2. Identifies, drives organization change management for technical capabilities introduced in release. Leads change management activity across the organization in partnership with Business product management, L&D, Communications and stakeholders. Ensures a smooth change adoption across user community (internal and external) with timely communications and/or training. Owns OCM plan; responsible for successful and timely execution of the plan for the designated products.
  3. Responsible for tracking upcoming releases, features and new capabilities from providers such as SaaS vendors. Responsible for influencing, negotiating long term product roadmap based on upcoming features and their relevance within organizational context working in partnership with Business Product management, EA, Solution Architecture, and stakeholders. Creates and elaborates technical features with high level sizing, acceptance criteria and desired user experience.
  4. Drives collaboration with vendor technical account manager for timely education, training, professional services, and product support. Monitors return on investment, provides constructive feedback on vendor performance, service level agreement conformance to Vendor Management team. Provides budget forecasting inputs to budget owner(s) for planning purposes. Owns tracking and reporting of vendor spend and variance to leadership.
  5. Responsible for identifying, documenting and presenting key learnings from local and regional technology product community in terms of technical practices, accelerators, user experience, technical features, talent sourcing and training/education purposes. Responsible for identifying, documenting, and recommending feature improvements to vendor for future releases

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (IT, Computer Science or equivalent) OR 3 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 3 years

PLUS

  • 8 or more years of experience in Technology domain such as Software Development, IT Infrastructure
  • 3 or more years of experience working as Technical Product Owner or Product Manager*

*In lieu of experience, may consider those with: 3 or more years of relevant technical or leadership role as EA, Solutions Architect, System Architect, IT Engineering Manager/Lead or equivalent role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of P&C Insurance domain is strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge in at least one of the Insurance products (i.e. Policy, Billing or Claims) is strongly preferred
  • Experience with P&C Insurance SaaS platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, etc. is strongly preferred
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience in Agile methodologies including SAFe Product Management, Scrum, and Kanban
  • User Experience certification
  • Organization Change management (OCM) certification
  • Product Manager certification
