Responsibilities:
  • Properly and legibly fill out all paperwork relating to production.
  • Ensure the production run matches all instructions listed on the traveler.
  • Inspect parts being produced for quality issues and immediately report all defects to QA, Mold Technician, or Shift Supervisor.
  • Safely lift and stack filled boxes onto pallets.
  • Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels.
  • Stack and pack product per instructions that vary with different customers and orders.
  • Flame containers and lids when required.
  • Complete assembly of product by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers as required while keeping up with the production machines cycle.
  • When the machine experiences an interruption in production, the packer/handler will take this available time to clean up oil, sweep, mop, make boxes or other tasks that may be assigned by the team leader or supervisor.
  • Inform Team Lead or Shift Supervisor when production run is almost finished and raw materials are needed to maintain a continuous production run.
  • Inform the technicians of any machine problems encountered during the run.
  • Inform Team Lead or Shift Supervisor of their availability to run different production runs when applicable.
  • Dispose of scrap per department procedures.
  • Responsible for housekeeping around working area of assigned machine.
  • Perform all job duties efficiently and safely, correctly wearing all PPE as required.
  • Adhere to all Company and Departmental procedures.
  • Follow all Safety, Food Safety, GMP and HACCP practices.
  • Various other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in fast-paced production environment is highly preferred.
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Good hand-eye coordination is required.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent exposure to production floor; required use of PPE including but not limited to: Bump Cap, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hair/beard nets; Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask as applicable.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions.
  • Must be able to keep-up with the fast-paced production cycles.
  • Position requires agility and consistent attention to detail.
  • Able to tolerate constant repetition.
  • Must be able to identify alpha / numeric product codes.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holiday and over-time.
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Good communication skills--verbal and written; ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team environment; displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.
