Our client in Irving, TX is looking for a Logistics Associate to join their rapidly growing team. This is a hybrid role with 3 days working onsite in Irving, 2 days remote, projected to last 6 months or more, possibility of being hired on for the right fit.

In this role, you will execute delivery and logistics activities for ocean liner and air, ensuring on time shipment from the plants and on time delivery to the customers.

The focus for these roles is a background in day-to-day SAP transactions in addition to resolving any transportation delays, equipment challenges or other issues that may impact on time delivery to the customer. This position will interface with their counterparts in Customer Service to meet productivity and quality metrics thereby ensuring a seamless order-to-deliver process resulting in excellent customer service.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
* Coordinate all load, shipment and traffic processes with local plant and warehouse personnel to ensure safe on time delivery to customer for ocean liner and air.
* Track and trace shipments
* Work with planning and scheduling teams to resolve material availability issues
* Ensure adherence to all SOP's and controls related to Safety and Compliance; including trade compliance, customs compliance, transportation and logistics regulations, Sarbanes Oxley, Dangerous Goods regulations, Responsible Care and ISO 9000
* Ensure that the escalation process to leads, regional experts and plant personnel is adhered to when unforeseen delays occur that may result in a late delivery to a customer.
* Manage exceptions and emergency situations
* Track the desk metrics defined for on time shipping and on time delivery and provide a root cause analysis and corrective action plan for those falling outside of the allowable tolerances
* Assist with resolution of freight invoice discrepancies
* Assist with the investigation of quality failures and the development of preventive and corrective actions to prevent future re-occurrences. Execute SAP quality notification transactions for all process failures to align with quality assurance expectations.
* Manage returns including SOX physical and non-physical
* Assist in contingency planning (e.g., power outage, SAP outage) and special incidents (hurricane and inclement weather preparation, plant outage)
* Follow up with Procurement regarding cancellations from carriers. This could be for no rates or space allocation, etc.

Requirements:
* 2 years supply chain experience
* SAP knowledge
* Transportation systems knowledge, e.g., TMS
* Order cockpit 2.0 knowledge
* Fluent English
* Strong, decisive personality
* Troubleshooting/problem solving skills
