What You'll Do in This Position

Provide support to more experienced construction engineering, craft workers, and field supervision by performing routine construction engineering assignments. Provides drawings and permits in support of project/maintenance activities. Assist construction craft, designers and construction engineers in construction layout.

Inspect construction work for compliance with drawings, specifications and codes. Review and interpret working drawings to determine if information is adequate for successful completion of construction. Revises prints as indicated by Design Change Forms; draws field sketches of as-built drawing. Assist supervisory personnel in various phases of construction engineering and installation of materials and equipment. Prepare material requisitions, as assigned. Prepare progress reports and keeps supervisors informed on progress of assigned tasks. Prepare change notices and amendments, as directed for subcontractors. Assist in the planning and scheduling engineers in their functions and performs planning and scheduling as directed. Prepare punchlists of work-to-go tasks for construction management. Prepare material takeoff and estimating functions for construction management. Prepare work packages and routes them for sign-off. Utilize survey equipment for the physical layout of work to include horizontal and vertical control, and for ensuring that complete field records of all work performed exist. Monitor field construction progress by physically checking horizontal and vertical alignment and dimensions during the construction process.

Knowledge of construction processes and work packages.

Experience with electrical, mechanical, or civil system installations/modifications

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Experience with assessing work packages for completion at documentation close-out.
Experience performing material take-offs.
