We are looking for an experienced property manager with a people-centric mindset who will nurture attract, develop, and retain a high-performing team through training, mentorship, and accountability. You will develop and coach your team to achieve established goals and build lasting relationships with the residents to anticipate their needs and exceed their expectations thereby creating exceptional experiences. Through your strong financial acumen, you manage a multi-million-dollar budget ensuring the preservation and profitability of the property.

How You Will Be Successful:

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of property’s operations including all processes, supervision and coaching of associates
  • Exhibit “servant-first” leadership by putting the needs of the team first, providing training and feedback to continually enhance individual and overall performance, and ensuring all necessary resources are available to meet KPIs, improve service quality and exceed resident expectation
  • Review staff performance regularly, communicate expectations, and hold associates accountable through training, mentoring, performance improvement plans, and, as a final resource, corrective action
  • Maintain profitable operations by meeting KPIs and managing the property’s budgets
  • Partner with the marketing team to utilize creative marketing and social media strategies thereby increasing qualified property traffic and closing ratios
  • Produce daily and weekly reports, send resident communications, and coordinate resident function
  • Participate in property inspections with lenders, investors, and senior leadership; resolve issues as needed
  • Support the maintenance team by inspecting grounds for curb appeal, property safety & appearance, and help maintain property cleanliness by picking up litter, and communicating service needs
  • Maintain positive communications with residents and provide excellent service through courteous and timely response to resident needs and concerns
  • Maintain accurate and in-depth knowledge of the property, other Mills properties, and the local market & competitors
  • Collaborate with the Construction/CapEx team regarding new development and/or property rehab
  • Abide by Mills policies and procedures and laws pertaining to Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, etc.
  • Embrace Mills values and apply to all areas of responsibility

What You Need:

  • High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred
  • Five years’ experience in the multi-family property management or similar field with at least 2 years’ leasing
  • Minimum of two years’ leadership experience
  • CAM or RAM certification preferred but not required
  • Track record for budget management including P&L and financial forecasting
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills with ability to mentor and develop others
  • Compelling communicator with strong negotiating, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to maintain composure against obstacles; solving problems with keen insight
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Adept at building relationships and working in a team environment with proven track record of sharing ideas, providing encouragement, building on other’s ideas, giving due appreciation and bringing out the best in others
