Associated Optometrist

Smyrna Eye Group is looking to hire an OD for a full-time, associate position. We are a single location private practice in Smyrna, Georgia, a northwest suburb of Atlanta who has been providing full-scope optometric care for over 40 years. Our current team consists of four (4) ODs, one (1) MD and a support staff of over twenty (20). Our facility utilizes the latest technology (2 California optos, Optovue Solix OCT, RetEval ERG, Essilor WAM 800 AR/Topo and Humphrey Zeiss visual field) to assist in the care of our patients. We participate in all major medical and vision plans, have an on-site finishing lab and large optical dispensary. Tasks & Responsibilities Provide patient care related to contact lenses and the diagnosis and treatment of anterior segment disease. Screen and manage common ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, retinal disorders, diabetic eye problems, and ocular surface diseases. Participate in the co-management of surgical patients by providing patient education, pre-operative considerations & evaluations, and post-operative care. Work with juvenile patients providing comprehensive eyecare and identifying early vision-related problems. Provide specialized care to patients over the age of 65, with a focus on conditions such as macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma. Provide patients with consultation regarding nutritional supplements to protect their vision and ocular health.
