OptumCare Cancer Care, a division of OptumCare Nevada, is committed to offering patients compassion, innovation, and high quality care. The group is headquartered in the greater Las Vegas, NV area.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Approaches conflict resolution through collaboration
  • Conducts workload analysis to determine productivity alignment with changing patient care needs and resources
  • Coordinates patient throughput by working directly with the administrative director and medical director as part of a triad
  • Ensures delivery of quality care and patient satisfaction according to benchmark targets established by the service line
  • Manages staffing needs, and patient care needs within the budgetary parameters
  • Manages the day-to-day clinical operation of the cancer outpatient unit by monitoring workflow and clinical activities
  • Participates in establishing quality metrics for the units and providing data for scheduled reporting
  • Promotes a positive patient experience by conducting daily customer service rounds and responding to patient, family, and physician concerns
  • Assists with the timely clinical performance evaluation of team members and submits completed written clinical performance evaluations according to institutional standards
  • Monitors, coaches, and develops personnel
  • Ensures compliance with certifications, licenses, and required education for team members and maintains records in their employee files

Required Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted NV RN license or temporary NV RN license with the ability to obtain permanent NV RN license upon expiration of temporary NV RN license
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification
  • 5+ years of work experience as an RN, with 2+ years of clinical experience in oncology
  • Ability to direct care in the infusion rooms to assist with administering chemotherapy / certified to administer chemotherapy
  • Must be willing to float between 3 office locations in the Las Vegas area (approximately 50 - 75% local travel per week) to make rounds with staff


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or Masters degree
  • OCN® certification
  • 2+ years of experience in management
  • Experience with oncology electronic health records
  • Membership in professional and leadership organization


Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
