Description:

Role Statement

A Truss worker 1 assists in the production of trusses while learning the skills used in assembly.


Location

This position will be performed onsite at our truss plant. Remote work is not available for this role.


Outcomes for Success

  • Stack and band finished trusses
  • Pull truss hardware for assembly team
  • Stock hardware as needed
  • Maintain work areas according to Company standards and housekeeping guidelines
  • Show initiative in learning truss manufacturing. Learn truss manufacturing terminology and train in the efficient, effective and safe operation of truss manufacturing machinery
  • Follow instructions when given an assignment
  • Learn safety procedures and follow established procedures for all assignments
  • Handle lumber and perform miscellaneous yard work as assigned
  • Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned

Wages

Starting wages will be based on years of experience and education.

Requirements:
  • Aptitude in the usage of various hand tools (screwdrivers, ratchets, hammers etc.) and measurement tools (e.g., calipers)
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • High school diploma or GED


Physical Requirements

  • Heavy Work: Lifting or exerting up to 51-100 pounds of force seldom and/or up to 35-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or less than 35 pounds frequently to move objects. Heavy work involves standing and/or walking all the time. Requires the ability to work alone without risk to oneself and operate equipment without close supervision.
  • Occasional reaching-extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Frequent use of hands/fingers to handle or feel (operate, active, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, position)
  • Frequently standing
  • Occasional sitting and walking
  • Talk/hear; Writing, reading, speaking, and understanding English
