PAINTER

The essential duties of the Painter are to maintain, repair and achieve optimal aesthetics all wall & ceiling surfaces in the hotel. This role reports directly to the Director/Assistant Director of Engineer. The Painter will be an experienced professional with strong working knowledge of surface preparation, mixing/blending plaster, structo-Lite, etc, effectively and efficiently use appropriate brushes, rollers, etc. to apply paint, stains, varnishes & other coatings to walls, ceilings, etc.

Job Description

• Provide for an exceptional guest experience

• Work in a safe, clean and efficient manner

• Make necessary on-site preparations (securing area, covering FF&E, etc.), floor surfaces, as necessary

• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sandpaper, removing old paint.

• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (ie compound, plaster)

• Skim coating of wall surfaces

• Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture

• Very adept and experienced with using associated tools and equipment, ie; rollers, brushes, scrapers, sanders, etc.

• Adhere to all health and safety precautions

• Perform duties as reasonably assigned

Requirements

• Prior experience working in a fast paced, high-end environment providing extraordinary guest experience

• Preferably at least four (4) years of experience preferred.

• Excellent service orientated attitude

• Excellent interpersonal skills to partner with colleagues under pressure.

• Perform work assignments with minimal supervision.

• A high school diploma is required.

• Fluency in English language; additional language skills and knowledge preferred

• Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift

• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds

• Bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving fast without discomfort

• Must be able to use of ladders, scaffolding, scissor lift, etc.

• Must be able to work on nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Certification with Scissor lift, scaffolding preferred.
