Big Woods Pizza in Nashville, IN is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team and contribute to the exceptional dining experience we offer to our patrons. As a Cook, you will play a pivotal role in preparing high-quality dishes that meet our standards of taste, presentation, and consistency. Your culinary expertise, attention to detail, and teamwork will be essential in delivering memorable meals to our guests.

Cook Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all ingredients are properly portioned, prepped, and ready for cooking.

  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards while handling and preparing ingredients.

  • Execute cooking techniques with precision to ensure dishes are cooked to perfection and maintain their intended flavors.

  • Plate and present dishes in an appealing manner, adhering to the restaurant's plating standards.

  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and coordinated preparation of orders, minimizing customer wait times.

  • Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process and before plating, ensuring that each dish meets our standards.

  • Keep the cooking stations clean, organized, and properly stocked with ingredients and supplies.

  • Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment by following proper cleaning and maintenance procedures.

  • Work closely with kitchen staff, including chefs, sous chefs, and other cooks, to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure accurate order preparation and address any customer inquiries or special requests.

  • Follow the restaurant's recipes, portion sizes, and plating guidelines to maintain consistency in food quality and presentation.

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and kitchen cleanliness.

Cook Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cook or Line Cook in a restaurant setting.

  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.

  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.

  • Creativity and a passion for culinary arts.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • ServeSafe Certification.

  • Must be 18+ years of age.
