Life Sciences Senior Technical Talent Acquisition Partner

Position Profile

Humacyte, Inc. is bringing to market a once in a generation scientific technology platform, bioengineering readily available and universally implantable product opportunities focused on improving lives of patients and transforming the practice of medicine. Located in Durham, NC, the company develops and manufactures acellular tissues for the treatment of diseases and conditions across a wide range of therapeutic areas. The company’s innovative technology supports tissue repair, reconstruction, and replacement while overcoming limitations in existing standards of care. Initially developing a portfolio of human acellular vessels (HAVs), to target multiple vascular markets including trauma, arteriovenous access for hemodialysis, peripheral arterial disease, and coronary artery bypass grafting. Humacyte is also focused on the development of future markets such as pediatric heart surgery, delivery of cellular therapies, and multiple other novel cell and tissue systems.

We are looking for additional technically strong colleagues with intellectual curiosity, and a solutions focused mindset with the proven ability to help us expand our team. Candidates will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively as part of the Humacyte organization. Position Background:

We are looking for a skilled Life Sciences Technical Recruiter (Sr. Technical Talent Acquisition Partner) who will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring top talent for our scientific and engineering teams. In this position, you will work closely with hiring managers to understand their needs and requirements and develop effective recruiting strategies. You will also be responsible for building a strong candidate pipeline and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

Remote Work Designation: ONSITE/NOT REMOTE

Major Accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute recruiting plans and strategies to identify and attract top talent in the Life Sciences scientific and engineering fields.
  • Partner with hiring managers to help them identify the key projects and objectives they need and expect from their hires and help them draft job descriptions that accurately reflect the hiring needs.
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure a deep understanding of their department, departmental objectives and hiring needs and appropriate hiring levels.
  • Develop strong network of Life Sciences scientists and engineers by creating and attending job fairs, participating in university events, utilizing social media, including job boards, and professional networks.
  • Source and screen identified talents through initial phone and video interviews to assess candidate qualifications and fit.
  • Conduct Recruitment Intake meetings with hiring managers to identify appropriate interview panels, interview questions, desired process, etc.
  • Conduct weekly check-in meetings with all hiring managers for whom you are actively recruiting.
  • Manage the candidate experience from initial contact through offer acceptance, including timely communication and feedback.
  • Provide guidance and support to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, including negotiating offers and closing candidates.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system and the shared network folders.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in recruiting and talent acquisition.
  • Market a strong and authentic employer brand aligned with our business goals and culture to differentiate Humacyte as an employer of choice.
  • Serve as the foundation for attracting top candidates and ensuring a consistent and positive candidate experience.
  • Developing the recruitment and sourcing strategies that cultivate a high-performance environment and ensures the organization has a strong talent network.
  • Proactively establish and build pipelines in anticipation of workforce needs by partnering with HR and business leaders to gain understanding of workforce planning across the business.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the business, the market, and emerging trends within the field.

  • Ability to understand technical job requirements and thoroughly evaluate candidates' technical skills.
  • Experience in sourcing and engaging passive candidates through various channels.
  • Knowledge of legal and compliance requirements related to recruiting and hiring.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be familiar with utilization and implementation(s) of various HR systems for employee data management and applicant tracking.
  • Experience with vendor management.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to initiate creative approaches to problem solving and candidate sourcing.
  • A high degree of confidentiality is required for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a BS degree in an area of sciences or engineering, plus a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience recruiting for scientific and engineering positions in Life Sciences / Biotech.
  • Master’s Degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a fast-paced Recruiting or Talent Acquisition role in pharma, biotech or science sector.
  • Must be open to relocation if not currently located within 75 miles of office headquarters.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter required.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, preferred.
