Job Summary:

A Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Driver/Technician is responsible for safe, efficient delivery, set-up, and instruction of durable medical equipment to patient/clients’ place of residence. There will be regular interaction with customers, employees, and vendors.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A., and JCAHO regulations. Must have a safe motor vehicle record.

Requirements:

Unrestricted valid Driver’s License. Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Deliver and pick up equipment from home care patients. Set up equipment and instruct patients on the basic use of equipment. Assist patients in solving problems regarding equipment use. Act as a contact for and deliver product to consignment locations.

Work with key accounts to ensure accurate files are kept.

Complete necessary paperwork including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms and vehicle inspection reports. Distribute paperwork to appropriate personnel

Perform routine vehicle maintenance including the checking of gasoline, oil fluids, tire pressure and brakes. Report malfunctions to supervisor.

Load and unload durable medical or infusion equipment, oxygen and medical supplies into delivery truck.
