  • Industry leading pay, between $22 and $25 per hour, including weekend differential pay of an additional $2/hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Following the client’s plan of care, assists with/attends to patient’s ADLs including but not limited to bathing and/or assisting with oral hygiene and skin care; shampooing; changing bed linens; assisting with ambulation and prescribed exercises; light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, transportation, and errands.
  • Provides teaching and emotional support to patients and families.
  • Observes patient’s physical and emotional status; takes action in emergency situations.
  • Reports all observed or stated patient changes to supervisor.
  • Prepares timely and complete documentation of all care provided utilizing our care management software (Alayacare).
  • Recognizes limitations in providing care and performs prescribed duties as allowed by law.
  • Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years related experience or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • PSS or CNA certification (state of Maine is a plus.
  • Able to work collaboratively using tact, diplomacy, and discipline.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull light to moderate loads.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a care team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.

A criminal background and driving record check will be done on all employees. Employment is contingent upon a clean criminal background and driving record check.
