Position Overview
Purpose and Scope
The Information Tech Assistant aids in ensuring that employees are able to have working technology required for their position and know how to use that equipment.
This position prepares computer desktops, peripherals and cellular telephones for USML personnel in all locations where we have office and driving staffs.
Essential Job Functions
Responsibilities:
Answering emails from messenger center managers and supervisors regarding technology issues.
Configuration & Maintenance of all company-owned cellular devices (CAT Devices, Samsung Galaxy’s and iPhone’s) and accessories.
Training and retraining of personnel on phone applications, including MobileTek.
First level troubleshooting of Mobiletek with employees & contractors of the USML companies: Trident, Reliable Bike, Bright Star and Messenger Centers.
Assisting in managing / editing Time Card report with Driver Development and Human Resources. (as needed)
Assist in setting up/taking down Messenger Center locations – computers, phones, routers, modems, printers, wireless and wired scanners. (as needed)
Setup of laptops for sales team and managers.
Setup of all desktop computers – messenger centers and internal.
Maintenance of onsite printers and copiers (toner replacement.) Including ordering of toner and other consumables & scheduling repairs with Impact Office.
Basic online portal/website troubleshooting with client base including the changing of online client access passwords.
Maintain a database of all US Messenger company technical equipment under your purview.
Assist the IT Director with issues regarding the US Messenger Xcelerator application, as needed. Level 1 – accelerated, Level 2 to IT Director.
Basic desktop troubleshooting. Assisting in the physical setup of desktop phones.
Assisting the Director of Technology, as needed.
Report all concerns and issues to IT Director.
Assisting with Order Entry and answering the buzzer (phone calls). (as required)
Abide by all US Messenger company rules and regulations.
Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities,
Experience working with Microsoft Windows 7 and above operating systems, various software packages including Microsoft Office 2013 and above, Windows based computers and peripherals.
Ability to listen, communicate effectively to user regarding issues and explain solutions, and work cooperatively with diverse groups of people.
Ability to lift, carry or otherwise transport heavy cartons delivering throughout the USML footprint.
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
Ability to take direction and carry out tasks, as directed by the Director of Technology.
Ability to handle and resolve problems.
Experience/Education: Two years related technical experience preferred. High school diploma or GED equivalence.
