Great Western Trailer (GWT) is a dynamic trailer Sales, Leasing, Rental, and Service company in significant growth mode. With 10 locations across 8 states, we are planning expansion into other sites in our current footprint, as well as other locations across the country. We have operations in Fontana, CA; Albuquerque, NM; Phoenix, AZ; Grants Pass, OR, Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Dearborn, MI; Salt Lake City, UT; Oklahoma City, OK; and Tulsa, OK.

GWT) is seeking people like you to join as Accounting Supervisor which will be instrumental to growing our Accounting and Finance sales initiative. Our company is a leader in serving the semi-trailer industry and we are looking to expand our parts sales across the company. This role will be an integral part of building out our outside parts sale's platform and critical to our growth.

This is a Hybrid position based in Torrance, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger and financials reporting.
  • Participate in regular year end, bank and tax audits.
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Performing reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyzing financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting practices.
  • Identifying potential cash flow problems and financial irregularities.
  • Review and analyze financial data, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training, coaching and development opportunities for the accounting team.
  • Providing regular updates to management regarding company finances.
  • Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to maintain the integrity of financial records and ensure compliance with accounting regulations.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and address financial issues and discrepancies.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP.

Salary: $85k - $100k Annually
