Job Title: Refrigeration Service Technician


Overview: Comfort Systems USA Temp Right Service is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Service Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing refrigeration systems and equipment. This position requires a thorough understanding of refrigeration principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Refrigeration Service Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and efficiency of refrigeration systems for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections of refrigeration systems to identify potential issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of refrigeration equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in refrigeration systems, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and controls.
  • Repair or replace defective components, such as valves, thermostats, motors, and electrical wiring.
  • Perform leak detection and repair tasks to prevent refrigerant leaks and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Install new refrigeration systems, including piping, insulation, and electrical connections, according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Test and calibrate refrigeration systems to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
  • Document all service and maintenance activities accurately, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients on the operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in refrigeration and HVAC systems required.
  • Proven experience as a refrigeration technician or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles, including thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigerant properties.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various types of refrigeration systems, including commercial and industrial refrigeration units.
  • Familiarity with refrigeration tools and equipment, such as manifold gauges, leak detectors, and refrigerant recovery units.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency service calls as needed.
