Loan Servicing Associate

First Federal Bank of Louisiana is currently seeking a Loan Servicing Associate in the Loan Servicing Department. The position is located at the Main Office in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

SUMMARY

Performs a wide variety of duties pertaining to loan accounts, including corrections and monitoring. Cross-trains for other job functions within the loan servicing department. Must be able to train others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES include, but are not limited, to the following:

• Utilizes technology and numerous software packages within the Bank; may serve as subject matter expert on certain software systems
• Assists in daily adjustments on accounts
• Assists customers with credit card questions and online access; assists Loan Servicing Coordinators with credit card duties
• Reviews, monitors, and maintains various reports
• Performs a variety of loan transactions including payments, payoffs, various escrow transactions, loan disbursements, transfers and reversals
• Balances transaction tickets and GL entries to system totals
• Scans and indexes all processed documentation
• Ensures effective insurance coverage and timely placement of lender-placed insurance in cases where other coverage is not available
• Monitors and tracks regulatory compliance as it pertains to flood insurance
• Initiates, maintains and monitors automatic loan payments through the core system
• Requests renewals from agents and borrows to ensure continuous coverage
• Quotes loan payoffs and pay downs; prepares and processes loan payoffs; releases necessary documents
• Monitors and tracks escrow processing to include disbursements, analysis, and PMI tracking
• Compliance training is assigned to all Bank personnel based on their position with the Bank. Employees are required to complete all assigned training timely and in accordance with Bank policy.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Six (6) months related experience in banking and/or training in office skills; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge and abilities to perform the job
• Lending experience is preferred, but is not required.
