Job Summary

As a Pricing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in analyzing market trends, assessing costs, and assisting in the development of pricing strategies to ensure our company remains competitive and profitable in the LTL trucking industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of pricing data and publications, contracts, and agreements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Assist in the development of pricing models and methodologies tailored to different customer segments and service offerings.
  • Assist in the analysis of market trends, competitor pricing strategies, and industry dynamics to identify opportunities for pricing optimization.
  • Collaborate with the sales, operations, and finance teams to gather relevant data and insights for pricing decision-making.
  • Provide rate quotes to sales team and assist with pricing simulations and scenario analyses to assess the potential impact of price changes on profitability.
  • Maintain weight & inspection audit.
  • Assist in improving pricing procedures and support the implementation of pricing strategies and adjustments, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market conditions.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting pricing in the LTL trucking industry.
  • Complete miscellaneous pricing projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in pricing analysis, financial analysis, or related roles within the transportation or logistics industry preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools. Experience with pricing software or databases is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and precision in pricing calculations and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new concepts and techniques related to pricing and revenue management.
  • Understanding of basic financial concepts such as pricing elasticity, cost-volume-profit analysis, and margin analysis.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to pricing in the LTL trucking industry.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Constant sitting at a desk with repetitive hand movements to operate a computer for long periods of time.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend conversational English.

Compensation: Competitive wages commensurate with experience
