JJ's Mercantile, located along scenic Highway 128, is a country store reminiscent of days gone by. A one-stop-shop for groceries from farm-fresh vegetables, eggs and butter to daily made bread, treats, snacks, and necessities along with curated gifts, camping gear and Sorrel River Ranch and JJ's branded tees and more.

We are seeking a Retail Clerk/Cashier to join our team at JJ's Mercantile. The ideal candidate is dependable and reliable with great customer service skills, is comfortable running the cash register, maintains a professional appearance.

Responsibilities:  

• Listen to customers to gain a thorough understanding of what they need.
• Make tailored recommendations based on customer needs.
• Examine the sales floor to ensure merchandise is well-stocked, well-maintained, and properly rotated.
• Make coffee and tea for customers.
• Process, check and stock inventory to ensure deliveries are correct and of good quality.
• Provide exemplary customer service throughout the shift.
• Process transactions, handle cash, process debit/credit cards.

Work Requirements: 

• Proven work experience as a Retail Clerk, Cashier or willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform basic math, writing and reading tasks without supervision.
• Ability to comfortably stand for extended periods of time.
