If you answered yes, you might be a great addition to our Installation team. You will be the tools and muscle of the company. You'll be able to help informally lead one of our many crews on the jobsite. This is a vital role within our company where every day is an adventure and you have a huge impact on our growing company

The Lead Installer is responsible for installing furniture at customer locations by loading/ unloading, placing, and installing office furniture per floor plan specifications; acts as the main point of contact on the project site with customers and is responsible for maintaining ongoing communications with sales, design, project manager, crew, and the customer on all project timelines and functions. The Lead Installer provides work direction to the crews and assists them with solving problems on the job site, working efficiently and accurately to ensure the job is completed on time and project is successful.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides work direction to crews and assists them with trouble shooting and problem resolution during job installations in order to complete projects on time and on budget; tracks hours of employees and subcontractors.
  • Communicates with internal and external customers on project timelines and issues as they arise.
  • Participates in pre-Install meetings with Project Managers and sales team to discuss and define job scope along with identifying / specifying equipment necessary for job.
  • Pulls products from Storey Kenworthy warehouse.
  • Loads and unloads trucks using appropriate equipment or by hand at dock and street levels; carries product up and down stairs where elevators are not available.
  • Offloads products, identifies product lines, and stages product for installation; clears away debris. Provides direction and guidance on the correct methods of handling, unboxing, and staging product to crew; clears away debris.
  • Assembles, aligns, and levels systems furniture; installs electrical components and checks to ensure components are operational; maintains ability to install and adjust casegoods and seating products; disassembles, moves, and reassembles systems products; conducts spot checks throughout install.
  • Reviews floor plans prior to and during installations to understand, recognize, and measure critical dimensions.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the job site during and after the installation.
  • Disassembles, removes and disposes of old furniture per customer’s request.
  • Records and reports any issues to project manager.
  • Attends department meetings.


This role will require some travel to our eastern Iowa locations depending on clients.


Educational / Experience Requirements

High School degree or GED with minimum 3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in maintenance, construction, carpentry, and/or installation; some supervisory experience managing a work team preferred.
