IMMEDIATE MEDICAL CALL CENTER REPRESENTATIVE NEEDED

OPPORTUNITY TO WORK FOR ONE OF THE LARGEST HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS ON LONG ISLAND

STABLE OPPORTUNITY WITH ROOM FOR ADVANCEMENT

MONDAY - FRIDAY 9AM-5PM

BABYLON, NY (IN OFFICE, NOT REMOTE)

$24/HR

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of healthcare call center experience
  • Experience using EMR software (EPIC preferred)
  • Microsoft office proficient
  • Experience handling communication with patient, insurance verification, scheduling appointments
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls from patients, insurance carriers and provider offices
  • Return all messages and emails from patients, insurance carriers and provider offices within a 48 hour time period
  • Provide patient with an explanation of their physician bill and resolve inquiries and disputes related to the bill
  • File all patient correspondence received to their accounts and takes appropriate system actions to ensure accounts are billed out correctly
  • Perform follow up on all outstanding accounts assigned in accordance with established standards and procedures
  • Determines reason for denial and appeals accounts as necessary
  • Reviews and edits any rejections stemming from electronic billing submissions and corrects and resubmits claims
  • Verifies accuracy of patient insurance and demographic information
  • Generates bills to patients for services not covered by insurance
  • Investigates over-payments and takes appropriate action to resolve
  • Initiates refund requests in accordance with departmental procedures
  • Send secondary claims to appropriate payors
  • Performs other related duties as requested
