The City of Peoria Municipal Court is looking for an individual to fill its Judicial Assistant position. The purpose of this position is to perform specialized duties in accordance with court policies and procedures, which involves considerable public contact and knowledge of court cases with judicial instructions. This is accomplished by performing a wide variety of duties including legal support, clerical, cash handling, data entry, and responding to and resolving customer inquiries.

The position will prepare and process a variety of cases including misdemeanor, civil traffic, parking violations and protective orders; perform a variety of computer data functions in the case management system including input of citations, long forms, public and government correspondence, and motions. They will answer a high-volume call system, while providing exceptional customer service and assist the public, while providing levels of departmental necessitated customer service at the front counter. They will perform clerical duties including, but not limited to: typing correspondence, processing mail, collecting and posting fees and fines in the case management system.
