Ameritas is looking for our next SVP, Retirement Plans to lead the Retirement Plans division. The Senior Vice President, Retirement Plans will have full P&L responsibility and be accountable for day-to-day strategic and operational management of the Ameritas retirement business. You will provide overall leadership, vision and direction for the strategic growth and profitability of the division, ensuring the attainment of financial targets, operational best practices, product development, marketing, distribution, sales, plan investments and associate development. The successful candidate will build upon the existing retirement plans strategy, focusing on improving financial performance by driving organic growth and identifying potential acquisition opportunities. In addition, you will drive towards a desirable quality service experience, enhanced technology, unit cost improvement and operational best practices. At all times, ensuring that Retirement Plans business objectives and strategies are consistent with Ameritas's short term and long-term business and financial goals.

This role could be performed in a fully- Remote or Hybrid capacity working partially in-office and partially from home in the Lincoln, NE metropolitan area.

What you Do

  • Accountable for the management of the Retirement Plans division P&L.
  • Responsible for the development of retirement plan investment products and services that assure Ameritas' competitive position and profitable operations.
  • Set an overall division strategy and division objectives in conjunction with company-wide objectives and ensure the attainment of these objectives.
  • Develop multiple distribution channels for the marketing of retirement plan products and services.
  • Develop and implement plans to maintain existing business and improve persistency.
  • Establish policies and procedures for the operation of the line, monitoring development of plans and implementation for major projects and existing business.
  • Ensure the effective implementation, integration, and execution of the organizational strategic and tactical plan initiatives.
  • Oversee the strategic planning process to develop actionable plans that reflect and are derived from the most significant strategies of each business.
  • Leads and participates in senior management planning and development with other departments.
  • Responsible for the quality and accurate administration of all Retirement Plans products to ensure they are administered within their respective contractual guarantees and provisions.
  • Responsible for quality service that meets or exceeds agent and client expectations.
  • Directs the process for product development and implementation.
  • Responsible for associate performance, training, career development, staffing models and budgeting.
  • Establish successful culture and business matrices for associates and advisors.
  • Manages compliance with financial policy and reporting regulations, involving the planning and direction of programs, policies, and practices to ensure that all business units' activities are in compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Assess division results and recommended alternative strategies as market conditions warrant.
  • Ensure strategic alignment with other divisions meeting common annual business goals.
  • Evaluate emerging market capabilities and bring forward M&A opportunities to buy or partner where it may make sense to close particular capabilities gaps that support the retirement plans business strategy.

What you Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 15+ years of progressive management experience in retirement plans with significant recent P&L responsibility.
  • Demonstrated leadership with proven results.
  • Possesses sound working knowledge of retirement plans home office service departments, distribution management, product development, financial management, systems, and customer service standards.
  • Ability to understand and manage to GAAP financial results.
  • Previous M&A experience is strongly preferred.
