Position Summary:

Delta Point, LLC, a subsidiary of King Cove Corporation, is currently seeking a Data Engineer for Wright Patterson AFB. This position will provide ETL and data analysis to the AF Program Executive Office, Business Enterprise Systems (AFPEO BES), for the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul initiative (MROi).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Transforms data into a format that can be easily analyzed by functional users and managers, analyzes data requirements.
  • Consults with customers to identify and specify requirements; develops overall functions and systems requirements and specifications.
  • Extracts data from multiple information systems, transforms into Excel tables for review and validation by data consumers at various locations.
  • Performs data extraction, data validation, data cleansing, and data verification.
  • Develops or supports the development of data pipeline using programming languages such as Python and Scala.
  • Conducts peer reviews with customers to demonstrate code performs as expected.
  • Develops Structured Query Language (SQL) queries to query or retrieve data from multiple databases and to perform various operations on the data such as filtering rows and columns as well as simple data manipulation, Documents Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) methodology and maintains a consistent and repeatable approach.
  • Applies cloud-based engineering tools such as Databricks to process and transform and explore the data.
  • Collaborates to move transformed data to the designated platform(s) for staging
  • Works in collaboration with the customer to document and follow agreed to business rules to transform and format data.

  • Education/Experience:
    • Ten (10) years of experience in data manipulation and visualization, research methodology, applied statistics or business intelligence solutions.
    • Seven (7) years of experience with data modeling and extracting data from data marts.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, related discipline or five (5) years equivalent experience.
    • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Language Ability:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate technical and business information effectively to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Mathematical Ability:
    • Basic skills required.
  • Reasoning Ability:
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems/issues, gather data and information, evaluate, and recommend alternative solutions.
  • Job Knowledge and Computer Skills:
    • Experience in data modeling, taxonomies, ontological models, and systems analysis required.
    • Experience with Business Capability Acquisition Cycle, desired.
    • Familiarity with DoD and USAF data LRPs, to include DoD 4100.39, working knowledge of DLMS Transactions and Guidelines, IT Architecture Standards.
  • Supervisory:
    • Experience leading and influencing others, including senior level personnel.
