Infusion Nurse Supervisor (Registered Nurse) $1000 Sign On Bonus

At Princeton Medical Group, P.A. our mission has always been to deliver excellent medical care with compassion. We are a private medical practice with over 35 providers and 9 medical specialties. We are searching for dedicated and motivated employees to join our dynamic and growing team!

We are currently looking to hire a full time Nurse Supervisor (RN) for our Infusion Department.

We are offering a $1,000 sign on bonus for this position. The first half of the payment will be after 90 days with the organization in this position and the second half will be after 6 months with the organization.

Nurse Supervisor (RN) Responsibilities (list not all inclusive):

Charge Nurse Duties:

Responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Infusion department. This includes maintaining a professional atmosphere.
Responsible for direct supervision of nursing staff; ensuring adequate clinical operational workflow for all Nursing related processes related to Infusion Department.
Evaluate and monitor drug therapy relative to the total needs of PMG patients
Participate in product evaluation activities by testing new products, devices, equipment, and software.
Collaborate with Pharmacy Manager, etc. on interviewing and hiring of nursing staff.
Provide education and orientation to new nursing personnel in conjunction with the Pharmacy Manager. Explain the required execution of PMG policies and procedures as they relate to clinical operations; responsible for all Nursing related training and process creation for Infusion Department.
Responsible for conducting infusion/nursing team meetings, daily huddles and assisting staff with day to day operations regarding patient care. Motivate and engage nursing staff through working team goals.
Explain, reinforce, and follow PMG policies and procedures including compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and Infection Control guidelines.
Collaborate with Pharmacy Manager and CNO in the development and maintenance of the Infusion Department Nursing Training Manual including, ensuring the manual is regularly reviewed and remains up-to date.
Monitor nursing staff performance for accuracy and appropriateness. Identify areas where training reinforcement is warranted. Ensure counseling of nursing staff when needs warrant.
Provide/participate in continued staff education and development.
Schedule and conduct regular Department Meetings of doctors and staff and prepare minutes for same.
Responsible for leading office Rapid Response initiatives, directing emergency response by clinical staff in the event of a medical emergency, complete necessary documentation for all in-house medical emergencies.
Ensure and maintain proper working order of all emergency equipment, maintain up-to-date supply of all emergency medications including review of expiration dates.
Assist with ensuring patient concerns are resolved in appropriate manner.
Assume responsibility of any absent staff member if needed and as schedule permits.
Travel to Plainsboro and Princeton offices as required.

Nursing Specific Duties:

Administer I.V. drugs to chemotherapy patients under the supervision of the physician; flush ports as required.
Educate cancer patients on nutrition and side effects of the drugs used.
Provide patient medical triage, either in person, or telephone, as needed.
Assist with daily/weekly patient scheduling, i.e. when over-booked to attempt to reschedule patients.
Ensure prior authorization has been obtained by the ordering physician for all visits, procedures, imaging studies, specialist referrals and specialty drugs
Communicate effectively with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrate knowledge of, and follow, practices within the ONS guidelines during any adverse event while administering chemotherapy, i.e. extravasations, infiltrations or chemotherapy spill incidents.
Document drugs, solutions, treatments, and patient responses according to department guidelines, utilizing the nursing process.
Cross-train and perform duties as needed in other areas.

Infusion Nurse Supervisor (RN) Requirements:

Current NJ Registered Nurse License required
Infusion/Chemotherapy experience preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Nursing management experience required
BCLS certification required
Excellent IV skills; IV certification preferred
Previous oncology nursing experience preferred
ONC certified preferred
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional documentation skills
Ability to analyze and solve problems
Previous EMR experience; NextGen preferred

Schedule:

Minimum Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, flexibility is necessary as this schedule is subject to change.
Some overtime will be required
