Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and responsible for providing support to the Senior Program Manager in planning and organizing projects for our organization. You will be tasked with assisting in developing and co-managing projects with the Senior Program Manager to support the organization's strategic direction. As a Project Planner you will create & maintain schedules, Gantt charts and keep project tasks & resources on track, provide regular project updates to project directors, and maintain contact with staff to monitor job progress. A great Planner will ensure the schedule complies with project scheduling standards and key procedure. This individual will be coordinating weekly call-in meetings with internal Project Leads to ensure standardization of output. They will review project schedules daily and will work closely with Project Leaders to determine if the sequence of activities will deliver the product and project scope within the parameters of the project objectives. To be successful in this role, you will need to have some prior experience in project planning & project management. A Bachelor's degree is required.

What you'll do
  • Use Microsoft Project to create & maintain Gantt charts & project plans
  • Develop and define project goals and objectives for each project.
  • Monitor and analyze project effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative tools.
  • Recommend and implement modifications to the schedule, tasks and resources to improve effectiveness and attain project milestones.
  • Ensure that everything is on time so the deadlines of the project can be met.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor activities of assigned projects & resources assigned to them
  • Educate employees in methods to ensure project continuity and completeness.
  • Develop detailed task lists and work effort assessment.
  • Prepare short and long-term resource allocation plans based on input from all key players and team members.
  • Oversee schedules and risk management plans and provide serious deviations warnings hindering project results to upper management.
  • Identify changes in work scope in the project plan.
  • Ensure to take appropriate planning measures with project leads to reassess, renegotiate and amend scope of work responsibilities, timelines & resource assigments
  • Ensure to convey required project data and information to project teams & upper management.
  • Meets with Engineering, Product, Procurement, Project Management Leads to obtain project status in order to update the project schedule
  • Prepare and present regular internal project reports for management.
  • Evaluate and analyze with team risks and issues compromising project results and develop plans to mitigate them.
  • Lead development of baseline schedule and support Program & Project Managers
  • Gather actual data, update project schedule and develop reliable schedule forecast with support from project team.

What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or 5+ years planning/scheduling experience. PMP certification a PLUS.
  • Proven experience in project planning, scheduling & project management
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Project to create & maintain Gantt charts
  • Demonstrates ability to independently consolidate and analyze information from various sources to develop effective overall project schedules
  • Demonstrated success in working in a highly collaborative and consultative team environment focused on addressing cross-functional issues.
  • Excellent verbal and communications skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to develop reports for, and presentations to management.
  • Passionate about using data and metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and strong personal skills;
  • Understanding of project management methodologies.

Must Haves
  • A successful candidate must have expertise in Microsoft Project.
  • Expertise with Gantt charts.
  • An attitude of perfection toward details of a project plan and gannt charts.
