Job Details

Our client has an opening for a Payroll Manager in our Finance Department at their Corporate headquarters in Green Bay, WI. This position collaborates with the Vice President of Finance to set the strategic direction for payroll. This position also includes providing tactical and operational oversight for payroll, as well as developing and maintaining processes and procedures.


The ideal candidate will have knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance, strong project management experience, advanced knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce or relevant human capital management (HCM) system, and utilize business insight to impact influence, and support business partners across the organization. Candidates will also have to be flexible with work hours when occasionally required by business conditions, including working occasional weekends or holidays as required to support the payroll process. Candidates must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and enjoy working in a team-centered environment.


Responsibilities-


Management/Supervision:
  • Management, training, mentorship, and hiring of the payroll staff
  • Support cross-training to ensure no gaps in service
  • Responsible for personnel matters including adherence to corporate policies, conflict resolution, disciplinary action, and employee recognition
  • Set and communicate individual staff performance expectations and periodically review actual performance against expected performance

Payroll Advisory Services:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and the primary Ceridian Dayforce resource to ensure that payroll policies, procedures, and related projects are appropriately applied

Payroll Processing & Analysis:
  • Oversee the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll
  • Oversee all processing procedures, adhere to policies, and maintain confidentiality
  • Oversee and/or participate in payroll activities related to month-end close, reporting, budget and audit

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • Certified Payroll Professional accreditation preferred
  • 5 years related experience in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll practices, procedures, regulations, and requirements
  • Experience processing payroll for multi-state companies and Canada
  • Knowledge and experience working with Ceridian Dayforce or a related HCM system, including relationship management and case creation/management/resolution, and payroll and reporting solutions
