Summary
MedPOINT Management (MPM) is a dynamic and innovative health information technology company dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions to our clients. We seek a talented and motivated SQL Server Database Architect to join our team and play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing our database systems and updating and modernizing our existing codebase.
As a SQL Server Database Architect, you will be an integral member of our software development team, responsible for contributing to the design, development, testing, and deployment of our software products and SQL database design, development, and maintenance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create robust, scalable, and user-friendly software solutions that meet our clients' needs and drive the success of our business.
Duties and Responsibilities
● Collaborate with product managers, software architects, and fellow engineers to understand and translate project requirements into technical specifications.
● Design, develop, and implement software solutions using established coding standards, best practices, and software development methodologies.
● Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support application functionality and performance.
● Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in SQL Server development.
● Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code across the entire software development lifecycle.
● Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.
● Collaborate with user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) designers to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces.
● Perform thorough testing and debugging of software applications, identifying and resolving defects and issues as they arise.
● Create and maintain technical documentation, including schemas and data dictionaries.
● Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in software engineering.
Minimum Job Requirements
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
● 3+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer with knowledge of SQL Server development and database management.
● Strong proficiency in various programming languages, such as Python, C++, C, Java, etc.
● Experience with various frameworks, tools, version control systems, and development environments.
● Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
● Familiarity with databases, SQL queries, database design principles, and data modeling techniques.
● Proficiency in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
● Solid understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, and indexing.
● Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting database performance issues.
● Knowledge of SQL Server tools and utilities for monitoring, maintenance, and administration.
● Prior experience with SSIS, SSRS, or Azure SQL is a plus.
