Our reinforcements are used in a broad range of markets, including Automotive, Construction, Defense, Electronics, Aerospace, Marine and Recreation. AGY has offices in Lyon, France and world headquarters is in Aiken, South Carolina. The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for the planning, implementing and maintaining of the infrastructure and equipment of buildings and facilities including HVAC equipment, chillers, process water distribution systems, scrubbers, boilers, plumbing, electrical, etc.


The Facility Engineer personally leads a multi-craft crew of approximately 25 people or more. The Facility Engineer reports to the Maintenance Department Leader. Principle Responsibilities include:

? Determine facility and equipment specifications.

? Gather and analyze data, blueprints and reports.

? Design and oversee the implementation of facility expansion, layout, various systems and controls. ? Evaluate operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operation efficiencies.

? Develop processing plans and optimize resource allocation.

? Plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.

? Oversee and supervise team of maintenance technicians including reviewing team activities on the manufacturing floor.

? Minimize maintenance indirect labor cost including minimizing overtime.

? Ensure that preventative and predictive maintenance is being performed on all assets.

? Make changes to the preventive and predictive maintenance tasks based on breakdown and specific equipment recommended data.

? Continuously review process equipment components to ensure process equipment is available as components become obsolete.

? Handle general accounting tasks, such as payroll, and budgeting. Analyze project costs and prepare budgets.

? Oversee and supervise the quality of work for other employees to ensure that all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively.

? Manage and review service contracts.

? Conduct and document regular equipment inspections.

? Maintain adequate parts inventory and order items as necessary.

? Project Management – Obtain Competitive Quotes, Write and Justify Capital Appropriate Requests, Coordinate and execute Capital Projects.

? Perform make versus buy analyses to determine if in-house maintenance labor or contractor labor is more cost effective.

? Coordinate and oversee contractors performing maintenance activities.

? Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes and health and safety standards.

? Prepare reports and compliance documentation.

? Measure results using both maintenance and production metrics.

? Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols.


Qualifications Requirements Include:

? B.S. degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

? At least 5 years of experience as facilities engineer or similar role in a heavy manufacturing plant.

? Proficient with AutoCAD and MS Office.

? Project management skills including capital project generation, justification, submission and implementation.

? Ability to supervise multiple projects simultaneously.

? Demonstrated leadership skills – supervise teams consisting of staff and contractors.

? Good verbal and written communication skills.

? Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

? Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes.

? Knowledge of building process and construction principles.

? Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.

? Demonstrated good decision-making skills.

? Experience in a union shop preferred.
