Background

We are looking for a Sales Support Specialist who will collaborate directly with the customer service team and assist with managing the service-related needs for a major retailer with a physical and online presence.

This position reports directly to the Manager of Sales Operations and Support and works closely with the customer service team, sales, finance, supply chain, marketing, consumer relations, and shipping. This is based at ZWILLING J.A. Henckels, a premier cookware company, based in Pleasantville, New York with global brands including: Staub (France), Demeyere (Belgium), Ballarini (Italy), and MIYABI (Japan)—to give its customers access to the most exceptional kitchen products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • High level of initiative taking proactive action to:
    • Answer customer and sales team inquiries in a timely and professional manner
    • Assist sales in relations and support to customers
    • Understand product assortment, technical qualities of product, and pricing
    • Provide world-class customer service utilizing a highly professional and courteous manner
    • Implement new systems and practices to achieve world-class service
  • Proactively renew, develop, and maintain vendor relationships through direct interaction with buying team
  • Develop strong relationships with sales team
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal partners
  • Work closely with internal departments: systems, warehouse, compliance, supply chain, and receivables to fulfill customer requirements
  • Provide administrative support to existing sales accounts
  • Ability to monitor product assortments by customers and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Research nuances of each individual account and develop customer-oriented initiatives to optimize operational sales performance.
  • Assist the sales team in communicating with customers to determine their needs.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Prior experience with SAP is a must, preferably SAP SD
  • Strong intermediate experience with Excel (V-Lookup, X-Lookup, Pivot tables, charts) a must
  • Solid project management skills
  • Qualities: pro-active problem solver, excellent follow-up skills, analytical, organized, able to work independently under deadlines, and be a team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with customers, associates, and management in a professional and efficient manner
  • Project manage new system launches and assist with their development
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred – comparable work experience may be substituted
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office a must

Compensation Range: $60-70,000.00 contingent upon expeirence.
