Suttle Freeman, LLC is an educational consulting firm that provides school districts with services that encompass research- and evidence-based practices that support greater teacher effectiveness and higher student achievement. We specialize in teacher development, student support, S.T.E.M program development and support, as well as curriculum research and design.


Our Student Support Team is equipped with content experts in tutoring and enrichment programming. We create the flexibility needed to increase the professional life cycle of talented teachers and tutors with proven results in the classroom and leverages their strengths in schools to provide targeted academic support.

We are currently looking for tutorial support candidates with:

  • Alabama teacher certificate preferred (Bilingual/ESL a plus), but not required
  • Relevant teaching or tutoring experience in Reading or Math (General and/or Bilingual ESL)
  • Available to tutor during the school day (3 to 5 days per week; 4 to 6 hours/visit), after school (3 to 4 days per week; 2 hours per visit) and/or Saturdays (at least 3 per month; 2 to 3 hours per visit)
  • Ability to tutor in a variety of settings including one-to-one or small group
  • Experience with research-based instructional strategies and best practices
  • Proven student results on district, state or college entrance exams
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and utilize data to drive interventions
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff quickly
  • Willing to travel in Birmingham and surrounding areas


Tutors will be expected to:

  • Implement individualized student support plans
  • Monitor student progress and adjust tutoring as needed
  • Manage student behavior in tutorial groups
