Job Description
JOB TITLE: Tester/Assembler

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs final testing and verification of the machines for performance, quality, workmanship, functionality, and appearance. Performs one or more assembly or subassembly operations to mass produce products such as pressure fryers, ventless fryers, pressure smokers, broilers, filters, accessory items, and related foodservice equipment into a finished product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tester
Positions machines on test floor and inspects machines for quality, workmanship, and appearance. Checks for proper alignment of parts.
Connects gas lines and electricity to machines, purges gas lines, checks all fittings for tightness and proper installation, checks electrical system.
Puts shortening in machine, turns gas on and checks for leaks. If testing pressurized machines, sets pressure regulator and after machines have cycled on and off for a period turns recorder on and calibrates machines. Pressurizes machines and adjusts for proper pressure, checks for leaks, and high limit control for proper setting. Checks timers for correct timing.
Installs nameplates and wiring diagrams on machines.
Disconnects gas and electricity, removes shortening. Cleans and waxes machines. Rechecks for appearance and workmanship. Completes test sheets and attaches test sheets to machines. Completes all necessary work in computer.
Loads equipment on skids and moves to shipping department for packing and crating. All other duties, as assigned.

Assembler
Bolts, clips, screws, cements or otherwise fastens parts and sub assembles together by hand, or using hand or portable tools.
Use of various hand tools and power tools to assemble the machine, required.
Makes final electrical checks, hydrostatic tests, quality checks and fills out necessary paperwork and test sheets.
All other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Must have good basic math skills.
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and assembly functions.
Able to understand blueprints and use basic measuring instruments.
Able to read wiring schematics.
Must be a certified forklift operator or able to gain certification within probationary period (training provided).
General Education Diploma.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift/carry 35 lbs without assistance.
Must be able to sit/stand for up to eight (8) hours at a time.
Must be able to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, climb and walk.
