General Summary: 

The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager and job site Supt. in ensuring that the safety, profitability, production and quality goals are met and/or exceeded.  If needed, the Assistant Project Manager will perform Project Manager duties for smaller jobs.  Depending upon the job assigned, the Assistant Project Manager may report to a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager or a Division Manager. This position is considered a Project Manager in training.

  • Good understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), and Electrical Theory.
  • Ability to read and understand construction specifications and detailed drawings.
  • Ability to develop and follow construction schedules.
  • Proficient in English.

 

Mandatory Hiring Requirements:

References, Background Check, Drug Screen Testing, Valid Driver’s License.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist Project Manager with estimating for change orders.
  • Assist Project Manager with ensuring compliance with the requirements of the plans and specifications.
  • Monitor quality and/or supervises the monitoring of quality to ensure that all installations meet quality standards.
  • Work with superintendents and foremen to ensure that the work on assigned projects is properly planned, coordinated and established productivity goals are met or exceeded.
  • Coordinate material, tooling and equipment needs with the superintendents and foremen to ensure that the proper material, tools and equipment are available when needed.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are properly monitored and tracked. 
  • Identify and communicate fabrication opportunities to the Project Manager or Division Manager and the Fabrication Division Manager.
  • Support the process of reviewing and preparing the monthly cost reports for assigned projects.
  • Ensure company and project specific safety policies are followed.
  • Coordinate manpower requirements with superintendents and foremen to ensure that the appropriate quantity of manpower with the needed skill set is available and on site when needed.
  • Support company Safety and Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Provide appropriate and constructive feedback to Project Manager or Division Manager.


Position Requirements:

  • License: Valid state driver's license as required by job conditions or by the company. DOT Medical Card Preferred.
  • Certification: None required.
  • Education: Construction Management or Electrical Engineering College Degree or currently in school for the same is preferred.
  • Experience: None Required but electrical and leadership experience is beneficial.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Job will be based out of our Statesboro office, travel to job sites will be day trips two to three times per week.  
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required while on job sites.
  • Able to work 40 hours per week plus additional hours when needed.

Required Physical/Mental Functions:

  • Comprehend reading of blueprints drawings, and schematics same.
  • Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction).
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
