Salary:

CareArc is accepting applications for a full-time Physician to join our team in Emporia, KS. The Physician provides diagnoses, treats and help prevent diseases and injuries that commonly occur in the general population. As a member of the Medical Health team the Physician will triage, diagnose and manage patients with health problems. Conduct medical evaluations and prescribe treatment. Provide support and assistance to other primary care clinicians and their patients. May refer patients to specialists when needed for further diagnosis or treatment. Participate in developing programs to address medical issues within the facility and community.


Primary Functions


  • Prescribes, directs, or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury.  
  • Collects, records and maintains patient information and records, including social and medical history, reports and examination results obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals.  
  • Orders, performs and interprets tests and analyzes records, reports and examination information to diagnose patients' condition.  
  • Diagnoses or treats acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections or injuries.  
  • Diagnoses or treats complex, unstable, co-morbid, episodic or emergency conditions in collaboration with other health care providers as necessary.  
  • Performs primary care procedures such as suturing, splinting, administering immunizations, taking cultures and debriding wounds.  
  • Orders, performs or interprets the results of diagnostic tests, such as complete blood counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs) and radiographs (x-rays). 
  • Designs individualized care plans using a variety of treatments.  
  • Prescribes medications based on efficacy, safety and cost as legally authorized.  
  • Counsels patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) medications or herbal remedies.  
  • Detects and responds to adverse drug reactions with special attention to vulnerable populations such as infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, or older adults. 
  • Schedules follow-up visits to monitor patients or evaluate health or illness care.  
  • Explains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patients.  
  • Educates patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances.  
  • Performs routine or annual physical examinations.  
  • Supervises or coordinates patient care or support staff activities  
  • Directs and coordinates activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
  • Participates in activities aimed at professional growth and development including conferences or continuing education activities.  
  • Participates in daily team huddles.
  • Participates in quality assurance initiatives.


Required Qualifications

  • Must hold a current Kansas license as a M.D. or D.O
  • Current DEA license requires
  • Doctorate Required. Field of Study: Medical
  • Positive attitude
  • Team player


Preferred Qualifications

  • Electronic Medical Record experience.
  • Knowledge in Word processing software
  • Knowledge in spreadsheet design software
